Saturday, 14 June 2025 will be a night to remember. The music by one of Cape Town’s top party bands will take you on a journey from then until now. You will dance the night away to pop, rock, RnB, disco and old school tunes. The repertoire will be versatile something for the whole family to enjoy.
Although former band member and leader Jerry Watt’s dying wish was for the band’s former name, The Rockets, and legacy to die with him when he passed from cancer in 2023, after numerous requests from fans for the band to continue their music, the remaining members found new management under a slightly different name, not too far from the iconic one.
The Rockettz New Generation began a fresh chapter with most of the old-school style music they are known for across South Africa and Namibia, now led by Manual Losper said: “We decided to go with a name that will sound the same but spelt differently.”
The band consists of Losper, who carries the baton as the leader and vocalist, lead guitarist Jonathan Latola, Carlos Griffin on drums, Donovan Dyers on bass and Vinashco Williams on keyboards.
